Municipal Drinking Water Lagoon – Turkey

Overview:
In a rural region of Turkey, the local municipality faced growing concerns about the quality and safety of its drinking water stored in an open-air lagoon covering approximately 12,000 m². To safeguard the potable water from environmental contamination and reduce the risks associated with prolonged sun exposure, the Guardball floating cover system was implemented. The interlocking segmented cubes formed a continuous barrier across the lagoon surface, effectively shielding the water from UV rays, airborne debris, and wildlife intrusion.

Result:
✔ UV-blocking modular surface cover system
✔ Improved water hygiene and reduced algae growth
✔ Long-term preservation of drinking water quality with minimal maintenance
